Last night Seattle Bride Magazine hosted their annual awards party for the talented and h
ard working wedding community. Basically it is a warm, supportive love-fest. A night when we, the vendors, are not in service – nor minding a clock. Great food is shared, vibrant music is enjoyed, our best party attire is donned and cold beverages are plentiful. This is a delightful recipe for reunion merriment! After 25 years and heaps of trust given and received – this is now my family. For this “Best Officiant” award I am deeply honored. I am beholden for the on-going commitment and inspiration of this collective group.
To my dear friend (and adopted sister) Janell – who is always so supportive – thanks for sharing the amazing evening with me.
A charming new venue is just now opening its doors in North Seattle. Here is the Halloween-themed bar that was created for the event last Wednesday evening. Lots of witches potions and magic concoctions were on display. The banquet space is SO new that the website is not live yet – but stay tuned as there will be more photos and information coming your way. Ideal space with free parking, great value, beautifully decorated, no corkage fees! Call Laurel Place Office: 206.767.4000
LIZA is Seattle’s well-known “Linen Lady” providing her gorgeous fabrics to the fanciest events in town. Check out Choice Linens for a rich assortment of lush decor. She’s wearing a designer Witch’s hat at a recent event celebrating the opening of the elegant venue Laurel Place. The Official Photo Bomber behind her is none other than the charming and talented DJ Sean from Seattle Parties who was keeping the party lively. Thanks for joining in the fun you two!
This is Dani Weiss a photographer buddy of mine. She was a great addition to the opening of a NEW venue in North Seattle: Laurel Place. It took her no time at all to adorn herself in our fun party favors/costumes and jump in the swing of things. This is pretty much how Dani rolls with clients as well. Making the time together entertaining, genuine and creatively seeing the “wow” that surrounds her. Thanks Dani for joining us at Laurel Place – I know you’ll be back with your camera!
Seattle Bride Magazine hosted a wonderful reunion/awards party this past June at the classic Rainier Club in downtown Seattle. This year I asked my sister Julie to be my “date” and it was so much fun to introduce her to my friends in the Seattle wedding sphere. Such an honor to take home my sixth “Best Officiant” award. Somehow it is an affirming tribute for the dedication that goes into my efforts. Thanks Julie, for helping me celebrate – and a much needed break from the rough June we experienced as partners in saying good-bye to our father. You are one amazing lady! Also thanks to DJ Leslie for spoiling us at the Columbia Tower Club. We needed to laugh – and laugh we did.
This year has brought its share of challenges – not the least was the passing of my father in June. We called him “Pappy” and he lived a very charmed life. He loved his antique cars, his pets, tasty food, his girlfriend of over 25 years, square dancing, the Wright Brothers, World War II history, football and being spoiled by my siblings and me. Life will be different for us now. And Pappy will be missed by many.
Lizzie has the potential to become a world-class career Flower Girl. Poised, charming, great smile, slow walk and knows how to twirl in a pretty dress. There is NO doubt in my mind that this darling pearled-princess would have produced a fine curtsy if she had be requested to do so. Lizzie is the niece of our groom and traveled from Ontario to help us with our Processional. She claims her official age is seven years old. I really wanted to check her Passport; closer to 21, I would say.
