Devin and Sarah

DevSrhThese two are such a treat…always so uplifting to see them!  ALL of their engagement photos were stunning and it was hard to pick out just one to share!  And speaking of sharing thanks to the talented photographer, Amelia Soper for her creative efforts here!  So looking forward to our Januik/Novelty Hill Winery wedding next September!

Best Wedding Dress Story EVER!!!

DrsI love the stories that I get to hear along the way.   Many of which I am not at liberty to share – but this one is open to the public!!!   (It involves my cute bride from a few blogs back -I posted her fabulous engagement photos: Meagan and Chad/December 2012.)

So…Meagan found THE PERFECT DRESS (and no, Chad this is not it) in a magazine.  You know what I am about to say next…when she called about THE PERFECT DRESS it was no longer being made.  Well, now it is too late because Meagan is going into obsessive overdrive.  She starts stalking THE PERFECT DRESS.  Meagan, being a very determined spirit, finds a bride on You Tube dancing in THE PERFECT DRESS!  It takes some doing, but she contacts the You Tube Bride.  More sad news:  THE PERFECT DRESS has been resold to another bride (who lives on the east coast of Canada) !!!  But now Meagan has  some good news:  It is the perfect size!  So the ever-so-smart You Tube Bride puts the two PERFECT DRESS stalker brides together!  Happy ending: my adventurous bride Meagan hops a plane and in a 24 hour travel extravaganza procures THE (well-loved) PERFECT DRESS …that is in ideal condition.

I guess, the lesson in this for me, is that we shouldn’t give up or settle.. but persevere.  Thank you Meagan – apparently I needed to learn that one again!

My teenagers…

JdyLryLarry and Judy seem to have made a career out of staying young!  Trying to schedule our dinner date was a challenge because of their exhaustive travel plans!  We did get a chance to catch up a few weeks ago and iron out some details for their very intimate gathering to be held at Seattle Yacht Club.  Yet, I did get the impression that the wedding is going to put a kink in their skiing reunion with high school friends in Montana!

Tom and daughter…

TmCasual Hawaiian attire was encouraged at this wedding – and Debbie and Tom’s guests were happy to grant their wish!  It added color to a gray Seattle day and brought an infusion of high spirits to the party!  This is a snapshot of Tom (our groom) and his talented and beautiful daughter Haley.  (She played duel roles as musician and as an attendant for the wedding.)   Tom and Debbie were off on their honeymoon to Hawaii the day following the wedding.  I have no doubt that it was a magical!

Debbie and daughter…

dbThe wedding theme was tropical and it seemed to invite the laid-back atmosphere for which Tom and Debbie were hoping.  Tiki torches, live music, beloved parents and life-long friends filled the rustic room at Floral Hall in Everett.  Here is a sweet mother-daughter cuddle before the wedding with Debbie and Audbrie (Matron of Honor).   I have no doubt that Debbie and Tom will travel well with the “keeping it simple” motto.
