Gayle and Jim O’Donnell – Surprise Vow Renewal!

JmGlvrThese two are so cute.  After 25 years they are still modeling the value of romance in marriage!  Gayle has been planning this event since last winter.  She was clever as she wove her scheme into the very fabric of an industry networking meeting!  It was a fun group: Greg Lowder, DJ, was on hand, Patti Payne was our Reader, Vocalist, Carolena Matus and Susan Haas the Harpist, all brought their talents to the ceremony.  Jen Taylor from Taylor’d Events and her Team were our fearless leaders at Reinfire Ranch.  Such a fun celebration.  Note to “Mrs. Wifey” and “Mr. Hubby”: Thanks for including me, it was fun writing those funny, tender vows for you.  Great “Re-Up” celebration!

Brian and Bro David…

BriWI applaud it when tradition is softened a bit and creativity is given a nod.  Groom Brian (r) and Brother David (l) look so handsome in their light colored summer suits.  Brian sported matching shoes as well – just FUN! These two looked like something out of GQ!  Additional creativity: Brian and Amy commissioned a Japanese Omikuji Tree built in a frame with beautiful branches that became the backdrop for our ceremony.  Afterwards, guests had a playful time tying fortunes onto the tree!

Flora Nova

FlrNvaChristiane of Flora Nova Floral and Event Design, is so skilled.  When I walk into a room that she has graced, there is always a sense of harmony and balance.  This is the Forest Room at the Edgewater Hotel, an intimate “Best Kept Secret” private dining sanctuary.  Christiane’s sense of style is magic –  from the charger plates, to the vases, from the grand arrangements against the large view windows to the smaller (in scale) treatment over the fireplace.  Fresh and oh – so – summery!

One of my favorite invites…

InvtJnAl

This is an invitation that I really like.  Simple, whimsical and I just love birds!

The soft purples and old-time graphics just make me smile.  The rounded corners and clean layout bring to mind a day gone by.

This was so suitable for their storybook wedding at Weyerhaeuser Estate in Tacoma in July.

OOOH LA LA! Chilhuly!

chihulyDavid and Sylvie chose to stage their wedding at the classic Arctic Club Hotel yet nothing would do but Dale Chihuly’s new museum at the Seattle Center for their French-themed reception.  Chihuly Garden and Glass is worthy of a visit.  If you are short on time follow the link above to their website.  This oasis of creativity is truly impressive by daylight – but as the sun sets, the enchanting lights magically transform the setting to something of a divine experience!  The word “magnificent” kept floating through my mind.  As part of our reception experience, we were able to tour the museum as well as the gardens.  Thank you David and Sylvie for a most memorable evening!!!

Fabulous “Save the Date”

SvDtChad and Meagan have inspired me once again!!!  This time I must share their “Save the Date” card.  It is a whimsical nod to their first date (seven years ago) – a movie, of course!

Designed to resemble a romantic film poster, it features tricked-out  Hollywood emblems, their wedding website, the date, time, and place of their wedding.  It is one more aspect of the thought and intention that these two have invested towards their momentous day in September….BRAVO!
